Our client is a well-funded startup company (Redwood City) in the digital app domain and they are looking to hire a well-versed and enthusiastic Data Engineer. You will be working in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design/Deploy data models/warehouses for ensuring scalability
• Build data expertise and own data quality in our backend systems and Google Analytics
• Design, build and launch new data models, extraction and transformation in production
• Interface with product, business development and marketing to understand data needs
• Design and optimize schema
• Optimize performance of queries and reporting capabilities
• Proficient in creating database design documents
• Knowledge in Perl, Ruby or Python is a plus
Requirements:
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform ETL and complex analysis
• 3+ years of experience in implementing and maintaining scalable databases; knowledge in MySQL, AWS tool suite and OLAP database.
• Preferred: web/mobile analytics experience specifically on Google Analytics, Adwords and Google Tag Manager

Role/Responsibilities:
• Manage company's internal projects, assign tasks to and supervise junior engineers, and manage timelines and deliveries
• Keep up with ongoing industry innovations and expose BriLent Inc. engineering projects to the latest top-tier technological and engineering standards
• Work with company management and business side to analyze, formulate, and document business requirements
• Present and communicate technical deliverables with company's business side
• Work with cutting edge technologies in the areas of big data, machine learning and web analytics
Requirements:
• 3+ years in full stack web development with LAMP platform technologies
• 1+ years in managing web and/or mobile development projects
• Hands-on experience in building web services such as REST, SOAP
• Hands-on experience in building customer applications on cloud environments such as AWS
• Trackable record of producing highly reliable and scalable code
• Experience with some form of NoSQL persistence
• Strong interpersonal skills with an enthusiasm for working in agile environments
• Highly motivated, goal-oriented individual
• Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
